GLOSSARY
Core Web Vitals
DEFINITION
Core Web Vitals are the three metrics Google uses to measure what a page is like to use: LCP (how long it takes to load), INP (how quickly it responds to input) and CLS (how stable it stays while loading). Each one has precise thresholds.
They are measured with Search Console and PageSpeed Insights, which give both field data from real users and lab test data. The two should be read together. For rankings they matter less than content quality, but a slow site loses customers before the page has even finished loading.
We keep an eye on them in the sites we build and in our SEO audits.
